How one man’s passion for hospitality turned a small Moroccan town into a destination worth discovering.
Every great journey begins somewhere small. Ours began in Tinejdad — a quiet town in the heart of Morocco’s Drâa-Tafilalet region, surrounded by oases, ancient ksour, and the vast silence of the desert. It is the kind of place that travelers pass through without realizing what they are missing. My name is Majid, and I decided to change that.
The Beginning: A Leap of Faith on Airbnb
I did not start with a big plan or a business degree. I started with what I had: a home I was proud of, a town I loved deeply, and an honest desire to share both with the world. My first step was listing on Airbnb — a modest listing, a few photos, and a heartfelt description of what Tinejdad had to offer. I was not sure anyone would come.
They came. And when they arrived, something beautiful happened. Guests who expected a simple stopover found themselves staying an extra night, then another. They were drawn in by the warmth of the welcome, the authenticity of the place, and the stories of a region that most tourists never reach. Their reviews told me everything I needed to know: this was not just accommodation — it was an experience.
“I did not just want guests to sleep here. I wanted them to fall in love with Tinejdad the way I have.”
Growing Step by Step
As word spread and demand grew, I knew I had to grow too — thoughtfully, without losing the soul of what we had built. We expanded our reach by joining Booking.com and partnering with other travel platforms, which brought visitors from across Europe, the Arab world, and beyond. Each platform opened a new door, and through each door came guests who became part of our story.
Our Journey at a Glance
1 Started on Airbnb — our very first listing, built on trust and authentic Moroccan hospitality.
2 Expanded to Booking.com and other partner platforms to reach more travelers worldwide.
3 Built a loyal community of returning guests and positive reviews that speak for themselves.
4 Pursuing official certification from the Tourism Delegation — a milestone that will formalize our commitment to quality.
5 Launching adventure activities — quad biking and motor tours to bring excitement and new energy to our region.
Making It Official: Tourism Certification
We are now actively working toward certification from Morocco’s Tourism Delegation. This is not just a formality — it is a commitment. It means meeting professional standards, ensuring safety and quality, and being officially recognized as part of Morocco’s tourism industry. We are proud to be on this path, and we expect to receive our certification soon.
This step matters deeply to us because we want every guest who walks through our doors to feel the full confidence of knowing they are in a professionally managed, legally recognized auberge — not just a house with a spare room.
What Comes Next: Adventure, Movement, and Joy

Animation Activities — Coming Soon
We are preparing to launch quad biking and motor excursions for our guests and visitors — thrilling rides through the palmeries, desert tracks, and ancient landscapes around Tinejdad. These activities are designed to give visitors a reason to stay longer, explore deeper, and leave with memories they will talk about for years.

But our vision is bigger than our auberge alone. Tinejdad deserves its rightful place on Morocco’s tourism map. Our town has history, nature, culture, and warmth that rivals any destination in the country — it simply needs people to discover it. By creating activities, building partnerships, and welcoming visitors with open arms, we hope to bring economic life and pride back to our community.
Tourism is not just an industry for us. It is a way of sharing who we are. Every guest that visits is an ambassador who goes home and tells their friends: “You have to go to Tinejdad.”
